Unit needs a recharge, and evaporator fan is making a rattling noise. This recharge is more of a test, and no guarantee this will work. May last a week or 5+ years. Impossible to know without trying. With the age of this unit, it would be nearly impossible to find a company to repair this properly. Even KitchenAid would not recommend tapping the sealed system. Another issue is no model number. Trying to find it through Google Lens search, it appears to be a KSSS42QDX05. Need to research further. Evaporator fan looks to be WP4389155. Also looks to take 6.75 oz, but unable to verify this. Used 1 charge from stock. Ordered 1 WP4389155.

A piece of ice squeezed out of the fill tube before I got here today and was sitting in the ice tray. Removed and cycled the ice maker. This is done by pressing the small button on the right for less than 3 seconds. After pressing, the unit dumped the water that had just filled before I arrived and refilled. Will need to use as normal. If the problem persists, we may need to do further diagnostics, but currently, per the factory tech sheet, we would need to replace the inlet valve if we couldn't get this to operate normally today. Inlet valve is P#12028324, but we would need to further diagnose if this reoccurs.

Relay board failure. Hard to say what caused this, could have been a bad UI P#WB27X39835 or a bad cooling fan. No way to know without replacing this relay board. Board getting power, but zero volts going to UI. Will need P#WB27X36810 before the unit can be further tested. We will attempt relay board; ordering 1 WB27X36810.
