No cooling at all. Can hear compressor cycling off and very hot. Replaced compressor starter. Compressor ran up to 6 amps for a minute, then tripped new starter. Compressor has failed. Good chance the compressor (sealed system) has a 10-year warranty on it, but this would have to be handled by KitchenAid. Even if customer wanted to pay out of pocket, we do not support the refrigerant in this unit and could not change the compressor. Would still have to be handled by the manufacturer's authorized service.

Washer stuck in error mode with the lid locked. Unplugged for a few minutes. Unit reset and unlocked the lid. No useful stored errors in service mode. Customer also complained washer seems loud. Pulled agitator off. Found some rust on main drive shaft and slight play in the main drive bearings. Found a small amount of oil starting to seep out of the bottom of the gearcase onto the motor. Ran normal cycle. Washer locks and unlocks lid properly. Normal fill and agitate. Drain pressure good. Excess bearing noise in spin, especially at startup. Gearcase is starting to fail. Could work normally for a while longer, but any further trouble with shaking or not finishing the cycle properly would require gearcase replacement.
