KA drawer style unit. Black filter handle broken off. Also temps high in both compartments. Found compressor overheating but not running at time of service at 180 degrees, and mullion loop hot. Found a burnt controller, possibly the reason for failure. After resetting the unit, and 20 mins of trying to get compressor to start with cooling it down with a blow dryer on air setting, got the unit to start running, but no power to cond fan. Have to assume the burnt control is part of this failure. Would need to come back with cond fan motor and controller to test the machine. This could have a sealed system failure, as its 20 yrs old, and has been overheating for awhile. We would have to recommend calling Kitchenaid for assistance with sealed system repairs on this unit. Once we installed this controller, we wouldnt be able to return it. Cond fan P# W10204677 and board P# W10281497 NLA. Used options could be available, but risky. There would be no guarantee of any kind if we install owner provided parts.

ER 61-03 at time of service. This translates to E24 which is a drain error, and could be from too long of a drain hose, although it drains very well. Unit starts, locks unlocks, and relocks, unlocks, relocks. Then finally starts, and this isnt the same every time. Ran a normal cycle, and unit filled water past the door. Canceled and drained, pulled fault codes. Has a door lock error, E2, FC1, for UI inverter comm error, FA for water level sensor error. Ran a T06 test, for fills until overfull and drains, but unit never stopped filling. I wouldnt let it get past the door for concerns of flooding. The unit thought it was less than halfway full. With the errors that this unit is having, its going to need main P# WH18X28357, pressure switch P# WH12X27815, inverter P# WH18X28358, door lock P# WH01X28354, and wiring harness P# WH19X28337. This was a common issue under warranty with these a few years ago. We dont guarantee very many repairs on this model, and this is going to be one of them. Replacing the electronics on this machine has notoriously had issues afterwards, and we would recommend calling GE if any further issues after the repair

Outlet behind fridge has no power. Plugged fridge into a different outlet in the kitchen with an extension cord and the fridge came right on. Found no tripped circuit breakers. Electrician will need to be called. Did find the L side fridge section door switch is broken, so the lights do not turn on when the door is opened by itself. This will make no difference as far as the power supply issue, though. Ordering 1 W11396033 (door switch)

Unit was stuck in demo mode after power outage. No instructions in tech manual for this. To turn this off, I turned power off, then back on, and held Cool and Setup for a few seconds. Was able to turn demo off. Fans, lights, and compressor are all now running. Cooled a couple degrees in a few minutes. Allow 24 hours for normal temps.

Replaced both rear drum rollers, one roller shaft, and belt tensioner. No more noise but timer does not shut off properly. Belt part # is WPY312959 and is available. Timer is a part # 305451. This part is discontinued. Cannot find from any source. Used 2 12001541 (DRUM ROLLER), 1 WP6-3037050 (IDLER), and 1 WP6-3129480 (SHAFT) from stock.

No bake, broil or any function for large right oven. DSI spark style, no spark to right oven, left oven working fine. Adjusted air intake on burner tube for griddle, working normally now. Only issue left for cooktop is the rear center left burner. Weak spark is being lost under the top, but occasionally works normally. Possibly will need new spark module P# 00189010, which is NLA and will be hard to find. Igniter P# 00189324 for the oven. There is a very good chance we just need to reset limit on the rear of unit. This will need to be tested before any parts can be ordered for the oven. Used 1 00189324 from stock.
